We have developed a simple but effective process to help work smoothly through the various stages of your website design and development. From gathering the initial information, to the creation and testing of your website, search engine optimisation (SEO), and selecting a maintenance option to keep your website up-to-date and current.
The following is a guide to this process. Of course each project is different and depending on your project's size and complexity we do modify the details to suit.
Step 1 - Consultation
Many things need to be taken into consideration when the look and feel of your site is created.
This first step is about getting a good understanding of your business objectives, target market, content, goals and how the web can be best utilised to help you achieve those goals.
From here we prepare a plan & proposal to match your needs
Step 2 - Design
It’s now time to determine the look and feel of your site based on the information we gathered in the Consultation/Planning stage. We will look at and incorporate elements such as the company logo or colors to help strengthen the identity of your company on the web site.
Prototype designs are placed in a secure area on the web for you to view. We work closely with you until we arrive at the final design for your website.
Step 3 - Development
The developmental stage is the point where the web site itself is created.
Typically we first create a home page followed by a "template" for the interior pages which contain the main navigation structure. We then take the content and distribute it through the site. It is at this stage any contact forms or web applications are made functional and finally pages are search engine optimised (SEO).
During this part of the process you can also view development progress online allowing you to suggest any additional changes or corrections as we go along.
Step 4 - Testing
At this point we attend to the final details of your website. We put the website through its paces by testing the complete functionality of forms and other scripts as well as looking for any last minute issues.
Once the testing and any corrections are complete, and you have given final approval, it's time to deliver your site.
Step 5 - Delivery
We now upload all the completed website files to your server. (If you do not have a hosting account Aussie Media can provides hosting - this would have already been determined at Step 1.)
Your new website is now live !
We again do a procautionary test on the website to ensure all files have been uploaded and the site is functioning as it should.
Information about website maintenance
Website maintenance will keep your website content looking up to date and fresh. How much and how often a website needs maintenance varies - as do the methods to execute it.
A CMS (content management system) can be included that will allow you to update anything from the entire site content (essential for online stores) or maybe just small section of one page - it depends on your needs.
Another option is available if using Aussie Media's website hosting. The account includes a control panel that allows you to view, edit and upload website files.
A third and often used option is one where we do the maintenence for you when required. This suits many of our clients and is most economical, particularly where updates may only be required periodically.
We do provide more information about maintenence options during Step 1.

The CD ROM cover-mount format was dropped in March 2015 in favour of issues being released online.
